Food Safety

All local food service employees must have an original, valid Foodhandler Permit from THD in their possession while at work. To receive a permit, you must successfully complete a THD Food Safety Class in-person or online.

Our professional staff conducts routine inspections at all restaurants in our community. As a service to the public, we regularly post the results of these inspections to assist consumers in being well-informed as to conditions observed on the day of inspection.

At THD, we work together with the food service industry to help ensure safe dining experiences for a healthier community. Our professional staff is here to help with training and education and to answer any questions you may have about safe food handling and Food Code regulations.

A food recall occurs when there is reason to believe that a food may cause consumers to become ill. A food manufacturer or distributor initiates the recall to take foods off the market. In some situations, food recalls are requested by government agencies.
